Default Is it a total loss?

hey guys,
So there was a bad snow storm yesterday in the Boston area. I was on my way to work when a lady was going too fast down the hill and then locked her brakes. she ended up fishtailing and her back side of the car hit my quarter panel. I was curious as to if the damage was to the frame? its a 2009 honda accord lx-s coupe

That looks repairable to me, but Im no expert. Take it to a body shop though for a proper appraisal

from the looks of it, its repairable, cost about few thousand dollars. Does the lady have insurance? was there a police report? if yes, then have the lady's insurance pay for it, and take your car to a good body shop like the dealer.

Total loss or not, the insurance business often does this:

This was 2010 so the car was about 6 years old (like yours). My dad's 04 Camry was hit from behind. It does not look as bad as yours. Rear bumper and a bit of body. (to my non-expert opinion, it does not look bad, and still drive like new).

They decided to total the car and give him a "nice" check. Dad took the money.

They said, if my dad want it fixed, they would put a salvage title on it.

Everyone was happy, and Dad got a new Corolla that following weekend.

They probably see the car worth more in parts, and want to steer the customer that way.

Back to your car. It's fixable. But how the insurance handle it will be the question.
