Car won't start; CEL on, fuel pump does not engage
1994 Honda Accord EX 5MT - resoldered points on main relay, new fuel pump and it still takes 10 minutes or longer depending on how cold it is outside. I had to sit for a full hour on many occasions before the cel went off and the pump kicked on. Squirting starting fluid or 91% alcohol down the throttle body will allow the car to start and it'll kick in the fuel pump shortly after for anyone needing to get going asap with this issue. Quite a lot of fluid is required and it'll start and run rough don't hit the gas and shortly after it'll idle out for me.
Now I know the P0A-A01 ECU has a fault, so what I'm trying now is re-flowing the pcb of the ecu. Took off top and bottom plate. Put 5 layers of alluminum foil on the top where the caps and chips are to keep those chips cool.
Made 4 ***** of tin foil to lift the pcb off the cookie sheet. Pre-heated oven to 450F and placed in oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, oven off door open & don't touch it, let the ecu cool down re-flowing the solder cracks I saw on many points. Will update after it's complete to see if it resolved the issue. Otherwise will order a new ecu.
*UPDATE*
Totally fixed. Instantaneous fuel pump power and the car runs a lot smoother and powerful.
