Post Venting a non-Vtec valve cover

Hello all,

I'm at a bit of a stand still currently with my LS & B20 valve cover(I have both). I need to put 10AN fittings for my catch can, but there does not look like enough room to do so due to a dividing plate inside the cover.

It looks to be riveted to the valve cover, and contains the spark plug tube holes. Can these rivets be drilled out, re-tap, then re-installed after the fittings are in?

Any advice helps, have been unsuccessful in searches for this online and on Honda-Tech, everybody seems to vent Vtec valve covers only. I appreciate any feedback, thank you.

That is what I do on even the vtec valve covers....drill out all those rivots, do whatever work I need to do on venting the valve cover, drill and tap the rivot holes, then use red loctite on some button head screws.

Thank you very much man I was scratching my head at the thought of anything else happening lol. I was only able to find one thread and it was a for sale post, I am probably using the wrong keywords. Appreciate it!

No problem. To be honest, removing that baffle is the only way to make sure you get all the debris out when drilling the holes for the fittings to be welded on.

x2 to that!

and like he said, make sure you use button head screws, aka round top allen head. they are the only ones low profile enough to ensure no interference with the valvetrain parts. loctite is also key, you definitely dont want those suckers rattling out
