Hi,

After the recent rains we had here in So. Calif., some water got into my passenger side floor pan (I think it came up through the drain plugs).

I got most of the water out but the padding underneath the carpeting is still wet. I'll probably have to remove the carpeting from the passenger side door sills but I'm leery of pulling off the sill covers without breaking something.

Can someone could please tell me how to remove the door sills without damaging them? I have the service manual but the details are kind of sketchy.

You pull the door sills up, it is that easy. Pry it with a flat head screw driver if you need to.

Removing the carpet makes it way easier to clean, you may want to do that too while its out. I like using a power washer with some soap, but keep the nozzle at a safe distance from the carpet since they're sometimes powerful enough to break stuff.

 

It's coming in by the windshield, I can almost guarantee it.
