Default oil seals.

Guys,
I,m just completing the auto to manual swap...installed new oil seals in the gearbox before installing...today when filling the box with oil to the bottom of the filler plug hole... oil was running from the oil-seal on the passenger side...is this normal untill it finds it,s own level.
Eddie.

Were the axles installed when you filled the transmission with oil? Also, what car specifics do you have (year/model/engine/transmission)?

Jon, The car is a 2001 Accord 1.8is A/T...chassis no.SHHCG86201...which if you check that against honda,s no,s should be a Swedish l/h drive...the car was first registered in Southern Ireland & I bought it of a friend & is r/h drive...i,ve been using the write-up from turbowa...but there are so many differances with Euro. models...ie. my vss from the auto box has a 3 wire plug to the sensor not 2 wire although differant cable colours & the other sensor is 2 wire...red/ white not black & green...as per the write up I reused the AT passenger side drive shaft & I did not check the oil seal diameter which on reflection now must be differant, thus oil from the diff as I try to fill it up...how do you put 3 ltr,s of oil in the gearbox when the filler at the diff. is lower than the gearbox...as you have done the swap I will need your help with the wiring...firstly what changes are we making when we piggy back the wires from the fuse box & multyplex.
Cheers Eddie.

I am not familiar with the differences between USA an Europe Accords so I don't know how much help I'll be.

The driveshaft oil seals on my manual transmission different on each side as seen on HondaPartsNow.com

1995 Honda Accord 5 Door EX KA 5MT MT Clutch Housing
1995 Honda Accord 5 Door EX KA 5MT MT Transmission Housing

I did reuse my right side auto driveshaft as it is the same auto vs manual.

When I did my swap the VSS is the same auto vs manual so I just plugged in the one that was already in the manual tranny, no modification needed. My VSS has a gear that extends into the transmission with a sensor that is bolted on top. Is the gear different as well as the sensor? If the gear is the same does the three wire sensor bolt onto the manual transmission? My VSS is also a three pin. What is the transmission model number? I used a P2A5.

I didn't have to piggyback any wires from the fuse box when I did the swap. If you are trying to wire in the reverse, cruise control, and clutch safety switch I wired them in to a modified plug from the auto transmission shifter. Here is my post below where I did this.

I cut the wire harness from the switch and de-pinned the wires I won't be using.

I connected the wires per the directions I saw on the HondaSociety swap guide;

Shift selector SIDE connector (Female Connector)

A = Pink
B = Blue
C = Green/Yellow
D = Green/Blue
E = Green/Black
F = Green/White
G = Yellow
H = Green/Black
I = Black
J = Green/Red
K = Green

Run L and M to Clutch safety switch
Run G and H to Reverse switch on Tranny
Run A and I to Cruise switch on Clutch pedal
Jump F and I so you can take your key out of the ignition

Wires B, C, D, E, J, K were de-pinned from the connector.

I ended up with this.

Here are the connectors for the clutch pedal and the reverse lights. I still need to run the wires, trim to the appropriate length, and solder on these connectors.

I placed the main connector next to the one it will be replacing next to the shifter. I then routed the wires for the clutch pedal switches up into the dash, across over the steering column, and down the left kick panel next to the fuse box.

I routed the reverse light wires up into the dash to the right, down under the evaporator, through the grommet occupied by the evaporator drain hose, up the firewall next to the charcoal canister, and along the air intake. I may be re-routing this one through the engine bay portion once everything is apart for the swap.

All factory switch connectors were solders on and the connectors were tucked out of the way until the swap.

Jon, checked & my oil seal,s are the same size...looking at your write-up & saw your cleaned up gearbox & realised the gearbox oil fill point is on the rear of the box under the wheel arch...I was trying to fill from the 17mmm bolt on the differential housing...so maybe hense the oil leak...have a look on here at Turbowa,s write up on 6th. gen. swap,s 28-04-2005...I think the wiring differances are because my car is obd2. with built in tcu & immobliser connected to the ign. switch....I bought all my parts from the same scrap 2001 F20B.
wiring the sensors for reversing lights etc. is no problem...it,s trying to understand what all the other changes are for....I,m on a few Honda sites over here & I think i,m the first to do the swap as noboby seems to know what to do.
Cheers Eddie.
