If you cut your stock springs your tires will rub in the fender a little too much, and you will probably bottom out more than you would like. when you get lowering springs they are usually much stiffer than the stock to compensate for the ride height being lower, tell your friend to suck it up and get some real springs and don't ever cut your springs.

What the hell are you thinking!? That just doesn't sound logical any way i try to look at it. "I'm going to CUT my springs"....hmmm...does that sound safe in any way, shape, or form? Just say it outloud and think about what your saying. While your at it, just cut your brake lines, and maybe some of the hoses under the hood too. I promise, it's safe.
Cutting springs is bad mmmkay?
Expect the car to drop another 2 inches over the next few months.....
It's "better" (though not bye much) to heat them because the same about of spring is there......
Now there's the same amount of weight on less spring, give it sometime and the spring will loose it's strength and start to lower even more. Not to mention blow struts in the next few months too.

Go ahead..Cut them..They'll be fine...Don't listen to anyone else. Ride will be smooth as ****. Especially with stock springs..hell yeah...springs coming out of the sockets and ****, I give it a 2 thumbs up.
NO...Don't cut them. You'll die.

Why cut them ?
just take the springs out, it will make any car handle like a race car !
well that and a vtec sticker !
but if you wanna go all out, why dont you get some altezzas and make your car into a full race car.

I feel sorry for the guy driving the car, even though this is part of his stupidity.
I just drove a 88 Prelude S w/ cut springs.
My head started to hurt within 1 minute. I'm a tall peson and all that boucning around did was hit my head into the ceiling.....constantly. I had a hat on too, and I hate that hard thing on the top of hats. It hurts like hell when it gets jammed into your head.
