97 V6 Accord Parts size difference problem
How's it going guys. I seem to have a problem whenever buying replacement parts for the car. They seem to be off or a different size or something. I try using OE and OEM replacements and would have to return the items cause they don't match. The car is:
1997 Honda Accord EX V6 automatic 2.7 engine
Parts affected: CV shaft seal(right), oil pan gasket, Pump seal, Torque converter seal, brakes, brake calipers, some bolts and other things I can't seem to remember right now.
At the shops I get it from they have a hard time matching the parts to available parts there and we seem to be stuck. Do you guys know of the real part numbers for the car? or can pinpoint me in the right direction on what is going on? Thank you.

Here is a link I use to check Honda parts numbers.

If you go to a shop to buy parts and they can not cross reference part numbers. It might be time to find a new shop!

Yes, I wish there were more competent stores/people around. After a lot of researching I think it has to do with their system/people not distinguishing between 2 and 4 doors maybe.
Thank you! You're awesome. Although some of the parts are listed with something like RMD and other abbreviations I can't figure out.

RMD = re-manufactured (aka remand)
any other abbreviations you are having issues with, post them up!
Make, Model, Year, Trim and Engine and they should have no issues looking up parts.
I was getting fed up with people misguiding me through town. A lot of ******** really. Looking for calipers and discs, I called a shop who stated they had all the kinds in stock and gave me a decent price on it, I went for a ride. Got there and they were so damn rude. Made me wait like 30mins just to tell me they had nothing and I should've called. I was like I did and you guys told me you had it! He was like oh..well, we don't have it now. Called Honda and they put me on hold, another person picked up, asked me the same questions, put me on hold, and repeat for a total of 35 mins just to say they would have to order it, and it would take 4 days.
Sigh, sorry about the rant.
Luckily there was a global autoparts 30 mins out of town owned by a Japanese family who knew what they were talking about. Hot Lady btw lol.
Found out that there are two versions of Brake calipers and involved parts. Akemoto and Nissin. My car came with Akemoto ones but in the computers at shops they list them as Nissin style for all sedans. I had to get a coupe one because they are Akemotos.
They told me that all the rest of the part problems were just in error from the shops and joked that maybe they just didn't like me or Hondas and just wasting my time. Perhaps my friend...perhaps...
