My Honda accord v6 is giving off the p0401 code. I paid a mechanic to replace the EGR valve and clean the passage way. Drove about 30 miles the code came back on. Same code p0401. I take my car into a mechanic that specializes on japanese cars and he says to clean out the EGR passage ways and install the Honda EGR repair kit it will cost me 900$. He claims the previous mechanic did a bad job and that my passage ways are still clogged with carbon. First mechanic i went to says he will install the kit and clean out the passages again for 200$. Whats a normal price for cleaning out the EGR passages and installing the Honda EGR repair kit (Drilling into the EGR and placing stainless steel tubes)? Is 900$ an obvious rip-off? It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic who isn't trying to screw me over. I need this done by a mechanic ASAP. I have one month to pass smog and will not do this on my own so im not really looking for answers telling me how to do it myself. Thanks in advanced.
