In to see how this build goes. It's not much different from mine aside from fuel. Personally I think you may need more compression, more cam, and a ported head to crack into the 10's. I think 280-290whp and 1800-1900lbs is kind of the baseline to chase 10's based off some other builds I have seen.

I'm not sure if the victor X will take a TB larger than 74mm...correct me if I'm wrong. Just basing it off the material left after I ported mine to 70mm.

Going with M5/black for fuel?

Imo 10.9 isn't possible without head work but best of luck with your goals. Subscribed.

M5 or FTW black will help you make 250+ on that setup. There is not doubt in my mind.

However, why keep the weight at 1950? Cut the car, buy a few fiberglass parts and shoot for sub 1900 pounds and 10's would come easily.

I've been there. I currently own a near perfect 92' Civic Si. 3k paint job, all moldings, weatherstripping, side skirts have been replaced with OEM brand new parts. It's seriously a waste of money though. It's a 90's honda with a horrible resell value and a tax value of like $1000. lol

My outlook has changed over the years. I now believe they all should be cut and gutted as much as possible to save money when buying "go fast" parts. I mean, it's a Honda Civic in the end.

I wanna *** with M5....I just don't wanna deal with the maintenance methanol requires. I know I could get 250+ out of my setup with it as I am sure you will.

Thanks. FTW is just flat out too expensive for my taste lol. And hard to get compared to VP.

I don't know a ton about methanol (beyond the basics) so IDK if my fuel system would support it. I THINK it will (walbro 255, ID1000's, AEM rail, Aeromotive Regulator, upgraded supply/return lines) from what I gather, methanol takes about 50% more fuel than unleaded, and about 20% more than E85 so w/ 1000's @ 60psi base I should be fine.

What I would do it run methanol at the track only, then when I get home pump it all out and put E85 back in it and run it through. Methanol would have VERY minimal time in my fuel system and would be flushed w/ E85 quickly following.

I'll be keeping an eye on your thread for ideas and comparison. I want to hit the track with how the car currently sits and see where I stand. I know I'll want to go a little faster eventually, and if it's just a little added maintenance and work for another 10-15whp on a fuel swap, I think I can manage it haha.

Meth is awesome. Can't wait to try FTW black and see if I can't break 400 with my little 88x99 k24.

If you are truly interested in running Methanol, it will cost $1500+ to run it reliably.

That includes stainless internal injectors and a fuel pump designed for alcohol/Meth. In a perfect world you would want to use a small fuel cell that can be drained easily and checked to make sure its clear of all Meth. Also, pickle the fuel system with pump gas after every use.

You can use your current injectors and pump, but eventually both will fail. It may be at the track or going down the road...

I am also going to be running FTW black, the fuel system is the expensive part for sure. I'm hoping to see 300whp on my 85 x 89.

Yea the fuel system alone is going to suck. I'll have over 2k into it alone when it's all said and done.

fuel sis.. its the most very important part of this, you can use 1000cc grams injectors,350IL deatschwerks fuel pump with 100 pre and 10 post pump SS filters and B&R SS pro fuel lines, aeromotive FPR,S2 pro series FR,with good fuel cell and u are ready for run m5,c85,ftw etc! in my opinion it is better to buy everything new its

Just like as stated stainless onternal injectors.

Also what will be the things/components to run meth?

I have a few customers that have 2.0 setups that just crack 10s occasionally and still drive the cars around. They aren't all cut up, but they aren't heavy...under 2000. It seems like its taken over 280 on a dynojet and pretty good conditions to run 10s for all of them. They are all pretty good drivers. 300-315 has gotten similar cars into the 10.6-10.7s. The guys that have done lower 10s just over that 300whp level have REALLY light cars...200 lbs or so lighter than our pro stock cars

Victor X is a good manifold for a 2.0 and you can get a bigger TB on it if you are creative

We likely won't be there unless we stripped the car. For the AMS street, running the full exhaust and full interior will add up. I'm hoping for 300 and would be happy with an 11.50.

300 through an exhaust will pull a full interior hatch to 10s. Keep us posted on results!

Honestly i think youll need more than 260whp to hit your goal.. i know a specific b20V setup that had 274whp on a 2400lbs car running at sea level and his best was 11.9 @ 117mph. His head was ported too.

In for results just cause im looking for 250whp on a 2.0 as well.
