defi style plus lsu4.9 help
Hey all long term user in past well lurker hello from Australia
I'm needing some help please I've got a fake defi advance zd unit here which has a single wire in for a 5v signal which says wideband oxygen sensor in the option menu also has a setting for narrow band 0-1.2volt
Now I've bought this unit plus a Bosch lsu 4.9 sensor yet i am un sure how to wire this up i bought it thinking the heater just takes 12v and the sensor takes power and that's it but its so much more complex no instructions with unit and seller is no help
I've read the heaters need a controller them selfs built in the wide band controller all i need is the sensor to work for a few hours to tune a few cars as ive read the Heater is important in sensor life can i run with out it ?
Any help world be appreciated please
Thank you

Reason being why I'm trying is these gauge units can be had for 60usd or less and includes boost guage etc on a digitalscreen
I just need to run the sensor for a few runs to get the ratios for a simple turbo tune

Ah ok
So looks like these guage will only read if the vehicle runs a 5 wire sensor eg some honda's which run the 5 wire sensor it can tap in and read it ? as the ECU controls the temp ya ?
The website states that you need a controller in order to read any wideband signal on a defi advance zd gauge. The sensors use a difference in resistance and the controller converts that into a 0-5v signal for the ECU/EMS. Without that controller there is no 0-5v linear output from the sensor alone.
If you want to keep it on the cheap. Your best bet is to see if you can find a used innovate, PLX or similar controller that will work with your current lsu sensor.

I might just get a mail order tune sent and be done and dusted.
Just curious in the future if i turbo my dc5 are there cheap hondata plug and play pre loaded tunes available in Australia we aren't up to speed with hondas lol
There are a few tuners who sell canned tunes. However, it is always best to set up an appointment to get your ECU/EPROM dialed in on a dyno or at least a good street tune.

Thanx for the help sorry for the time wasting but i now realize just cause this defi digital guage can read a 0 to 5v signal doesn't make it a wideband controller
