Any help is appreciated,

That is one of the cleanest "DA's" I've ever seen! leave it stock and preserve it. I hope to god that will never see snow/road salt, that's got to be a California car.

If I ever found a DC that clean i'd buy it and sit on it for a few more years, they're getting really expensive up here in northern Ontario for a stock rust free body.

It was $2400 from a charity auction so this is referred to as a DC? It has some Lil things here and there you can't see in the pics much less looking at it I thought it would be a fun first car for her 16th bday..

A "DA" refers to the pre 1994 "DC" body style, yours is a "DA/gen 2 integra" the DC is the 94-01 integra. I was just saying here in northern Ontario, Canada a rust free "DC" will fetch a nice price due to our winters with the sand/road salt, it ruins most older cars.

Leaving it stock and just keeping up with it's service would make more sense for a first car, opinion threads like this just bring out people throwing uneducated responses around. If you live in CA you'll be limited to what you can/can't do BAR/smog wise, just saying thus my suggestion of just leaving it stock it's perfectly good as is for a first car.

Wow. That's an original GSR model...and it looks to be very clean and stock.

These are pretty rare cars and one in that condition can likely sell for 2X what you paid for it....virtually regardless of miles.

The engine is a B16A1.

If it were mine. I'd likely do whatever maintenance it needed.

The only "mods" I would do would be a head unit capable of blutetooth connection, decent speakers (no sub...or anything that requires major wiring or cutting), and....since I am incapable of driving any car with a stock suspension, I'd put a NICE set of coilovers or bilsteins with eibach prokit springs on. All reversible and undetectable mods.

Or just leave it stock and well maintained and enjoy it.

It definitely appears to be a db2 (gsr) model from the pictures. Only thing jumping out at me is that the side/bumper moldings should be paint matched from the factory so it has likely been resprayed at some point or at least had the moldings painted. I would guess resprayed which is why the paint is in such excellent condition.

Honestly from an enthusiasts perspective, I would recommend reselling it for a large (likely double or more) profit and buying your daughter something newer and less collectible with the increased budget. I know I personally wouldn't even consider putting a teenager behind the wheel of that thing because of how rare they are, especially in that condition. Obviously it's your car and your decision, I'm just offering my advice. With the money that could be had from selling it to a collector/enthusiast you could probably purchase a newer civic, integra, rsx, etc. that would potentially be a better "first car" for your daughter.

Also just to add a correction to B serious' post, that model came with a B17A1 engine not a B16. They have similar power #s but the B17 is a unicorn of an engine since it was only offered in the 92-93 GSRs.

I understand where you're coming from in that it might be a rare vehicle but this is been such an argument with my wife the past year first my daughter said she wanted a Mustang so I bought the cheapest Mustang I could buy with damage on the bumper while I was out of town have my wife go and pick it up from a transport she called me screaming and yelling am I trying to kill her yada yada yada so I ended up selling the Mustang the way it was

Then the argument came to she's going to get pulled over and get a bunch of tickets and she needs to have a safe car so I started thinking what the car does not to get pulled over and is safe so I bought a Dodge and told her how much safer do you want it has a roll cage, sheesh. She says what is she supposed to say if she gets pulled over I replied I didn't call for backup, that ended up an even worse argument we didn't talk for 2 days and basically put me on the hit list for every cop in town I'm just tired and worn down and this car she said perfect so no arguments...

I live in Texas, and I was thinking maybe light mods wouldn't hurt it too bad and might make it more fun I just wasn't sure where to start it has a little over 100,000 miles and it runs and drives pretty decent 4 its year.. if I could squeeze another 80 horsepower out of it I think that would be great ..

you guys wanted a safe car for her first car and you both settled on a 93 integra?
and now you want to get another 80hp out of it?
how's that car safer than the mustang or that other dodge posted?

The mustang would have been safer in terms of the types of safety equipment it has and the fact that it isn't a sardine can without airbags, a good ABS system, modern crash safety design, etc.

Add 80hp?!! But...why? They're quick as-is, with their 160hp.

I won't rain on your parade too much. 80hp requires forced induction and ruining the car overall. The beauty of this car is its simplicity and the fact that wringing it out all the time is fun.

This is a very nice find. Buy an alarm. Leave it stock. Enjoy. But...its your/her car.

If you are serious in this thread OP...

You need to flip that car and give it to someone who really appreciates it.

My honest opinion, I've been in the game a long time.....don't give it to a teen. The intention and the purchase are amazing. With a car that clean, in that good a shape, and that the B17 GSR model, I'd either hold onto it yourself, or store it somewhere. It's literally worth more than twice what you paid for it. It's an amazing find in this day and age

The gs-r is a zippy sports car, but it can easily become a money pit, when trying to make it faster.
Keep it the way it is, maybe get a header.

For now, focus on the important things that your kid needs...
1. stereo,
2. rims,
3. soon enough a new oem clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing.

FYI...At 155,000 miles, many, many 1.6L, 1.7L 1.8L motors start burning oil, because of valve seals and/or piston rings.

After thinking about what everybody said here among other information I've come across I'm thinking head job port and polish cams intake headers exhaust hi flow cats etcetera maybe brake kit drilled and slotted front and rear , rims and the alarm I'm very well to debating how to go I'm thinking biometric with fuel and computer kill and a remote that will vibrate if somebody messes with it and GPS with backup battery just in case..

Might be a good idea not to end up like the charger..

They stopped me and asked me if I was law enforcement I said no this is a private vehicle he told me what is the meaning of this I stayed quiet he yelled in my face what is the meaning of this I said I don't know if you can't beat them join them he started yelling you can't have the lights on it and all this equipment he said he's going to need to take pictures of it so i got out of my vehicle and another unit pulled up, I said hey buddy to the guy in my car taking pictures I said hey partner I didn't call for backup did you! the second officer started cracking up laughing saying where did you get this it has better equipment than mine and the first guy turns around and says I can charge you with impersonation right now you keep your mouth shut I told him since you're taking pictures of mine can I take pictures of yours to the second guy he laughed and said sure so I did..
