Default Help b16a2 turbo build

Hey everyone!

I need some help with my project.

My goal is to have around 300whp track focused, sometimes street use.

It's a B16a2 stock with 205k km.

Running on e85
gt28rs
tial wastegate
tial bov
Exhaust manifold with a/c
ID 1000
walbro 450 e85
hondata

Sent the car to the tuner, with 0.4 made 230whp

We built it with stock engine, but the head gasket has blown, when i step on the gas, it throw away the radiator fluid, i'm going to open the engine.

My mechanical and tuner suggested that i need to do:

- Some work on the head and (maybe) in the block;
- Change the head gasket (OEM);
- Arp head studs;
- Block guard;
- copper o-ring;

Some things that i'm already doing too:

- Changing radiator to a 2 row;
- silicone hoses;

And i'm thinking about the front oil radiator too.
About the block guard, i don't think i'll need since a lot here has been using stock engine with this hp.

I wanna know what you guys think i need to do.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah copper o rings and the block guard are completely worthless... especially for this power. Head studs and a new gasket should be solid, just make sure the surfaces are good and you should be good to go.

Will take closer to 1.5 bar to get the power you are looking for iirc

Your tuner is recommending a block guard, for 300, on a B series? Uh...are there any other tuners in your area?

The copper o-ring is for a better vedation between head gasket and the block?
Maybe he suggested because here in Brazil, it's isn't easy to find another good B16.

All that pressure? I know a guy with almost the same setup as mine, and he did 270whp with 0.5, a smaller turbo and is not even a ball bearing one.

But thanks for the help!

Sorry, it was my mechanical who suggested.

I'm looking to maximum 350hp.

Look at the compressor maps, it's pretty obvious that you will need a lot more pressure than .5 bar to get anywhere around 300+.
Smaller than a gt28rs and got 270whp with .5 bar? Yeah, I'm calling complete bs on that. Not only have I see enough builds to have a good idea of how much pressure it takes, but the compressor maps completely disproves that statement. O rings are complete overkill, and your mechanic lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned when he suggested a block guard and o rings for 300hp.
