Default 96 accord

question its been a while since i been out of the Honda game. i just picked up a spotless 96 accord with a v6 that may need head gaskets and heads. what i was wondering is i have a 98 accord with the 2.3 , i thought the harness and all that is plug n play. so with the time i don't really have at the moment will my 2.3 ecu/ harness work on the car if i just swap the engine and trans from my 98 to the 96 ?

Different accord generations, c vs f series as well, and the 96 has a different shaped bay...probably doable but going to be some effort.

You'd be surprised how theoretically 'easy' it is to J-swap a V6 CD chassis Accord seems to be... the body side mounts and subframe mounts are all the right ones, all that's really needed is the engine side mounts/brackets. A 97-99 3.0CL would donate most of whatever else needed to finish the swap. From there, you can just up displacement and make way more power.

Theoretically...

i was gonna throw my 2.3 in the v6 accord bc its fresh engine n trans in a junk body i would have everything id need from my junk accord , kid i got the car from said it may need head-gaskets but idk yet . i need to get it here and look at it. if it does then it seems easier for me to just get heads if needed and head gasket set . i was just thinking worst case.
