ok friends, I am in a dilemma. im purchasing a 2000 integra gsr obd2. I have a 95 gsr obd1. the 2000 gsr have a chopped up harness from someone trying to do a tuck and failing. I am trying ti see if it its as easy as we(friends of mine and I)are thinking to just swap out my whole dash and engine harness from my 95 gsr to the 2000 so it will be converted to obd1. I will be using my whole swap, ecu and everything from my 95 gsr. if we swap out everything should everything wire up fine?
It would be much easier to disconnect it at the shock tower(assuming anything "rear to that" is fine) and just source a new 00 shock tower harness. As for the obd1 thing, does this 00 gsr have something wrong that you need to put in your existing obd1 engine?. The way you're wording it, it seems as if to circumvent the hacked up harness you're completely wanting to re-wire everything. The last point... emissions if your state/province requires an "E-test" you'll be screwed as it's a 2000 Acura integra, meaning it would be required to get the plug in scan test vs sniffer/tail pipe. If that's not an issue ignore it but, explain WHY you want the whole harness out surly it's intact past(back) from the shock tower on the right? you'll see 3-4 plugs that's the engine/shock tower harness i'm referring to.
The reason I'm wanting to put my whole obd1 swap In the car is the 00 is just a shell. I'm just buying the car to fix mine with. My 95 has a rebuilt title and it has some fitment issues with the front end. The 00 has had a tick started and the guy hacked up the entire dash body and engine harness so I'd be using my entire harness in the 00. I'm just trying to figure out if I'd have to cut any plugs or if it would be pretty much be plug and play. I would be using my 95 harnesses, swap and ecu. I'm not sure if the door harnesses are the same plug. I live in Alabama so we don't have emissions testing here. I have not picked up the shell yet so I can't look at it. By the way it looks he has completely mangled the harness. Pictures show.
2000 should be obd2b, which makes it even more different from the obd1.
Also pretty sure the door plugs are different on the obd1-2 years.
So if you were to swap your harnesses from the obd1 car, you'll need to do the dash, and body harness.
It's not hard to do if you have all the interior out, along with all the right wiring from your donor.
I can't remember what exactly I did with my door plugs, I may have just used obd2a harnesses, and didn't convert further back.
Thanks guys. This is going to be the biggest project I've done. I super stoked and ready to get on it. Here is a picture of the shell put together. And I'm getting lucky getting it for only $300. Has quite a bit of goodies too.
