1993 integra wont rev past 4500/5000 rpm
My integra isnt revving past around 4500/5000 rpm the rpm needle just kind of jumps around between those rpms, there is no check engine light and the engine seems to start and idle fine. It has been sitting for about three months now so i think it might just need to be driven to clear it out, before it sat for 3 months it ran fine and would rev to 7100 or w/e it redlines at but in the time that it sat i put a new exhaust and header on, and did a small wire tuck and deleted some things, like power steering, a/c and heater , and cruise control, and possibly more but i dont think so. Like i said there is no check engine or anything so i dont think the ecu is in limp mode or whatever, the engine is a b18a1 non vtec so it cant be a vtec solenoid im pretty sure , im thinking its either the dizzy/sparkplugs and wires, possibly maybe the new exhaust?? And im hoping that it doesnt have anything to do with the wire tuck cause i would hate to have to redo all that, any help i can get i really appreciate and if theres anything more you need to know that i might have forgot please ask and i will reply thanks.
ive had this problem on my 98 GSR before about not reving its the CKP sensor in the dizzy its not going to throw you a check engine light for it but i remember i swap my dizzy for my friends and it ended up being the dizzy
yea from what ive heard it sounds like its most likely the dizzy, i just got my licence back today and im getting insurance tomorrow, gonna drive her for a bit and see if she just needs to be cleared out if not ill be getting a new dizzy and hopefully that fixes it, thanks for the input bro.
