jdm '98 ITR 215/45/16 OEM Tire pressure?
Does anyone know what the oem tire pressure front & rear should be for 215/45/16 tires on an itr? The JDM 98+ spec itr's had this tire size..
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
kPa to psi
210 kilopascal = 30.457 924 982 pound/square inch
190 kilopascal = 27.557 170 221 pound/square inch
Actually yeah it does sound pretty low. Weird. OP was wanting OEM pressure which that is, but yeah not sure about actually running it that low...
I thought it was BAR pressure.
I mean if it's OEM pressure then just round up to 31 front /28 rear psi?
Maybe it's low pressure because it's a "low profile tire" @ 45 aspect ratio ?

I used to have access to data about OEM pressures. 99% of cars use 32psi. The size of the tire doesn't always change the pressure rating, it's mostly based on the weight distribution of the car. I would suggest based on experience to run around 30-32psi front and rear. If you're tracking the car you need to measure from there to tune the pressures. Lower pressure heats up the tire quicker and you get more contact patch but it also reduces steering response because the sidewalls flex more. I'm not positive about the higher pressure but I'd say it would help reduce rolling resistance and keeping tires from getting too hot. Any information I have fixed up please don't hesitate to help us out.
