Icon7 I love my 92 Si

Hello Honda-Tech! I haven't posted in a very long time but I still lurk fairly often. I just wanted to make a post about how attached I am to my car. It hit 220k the other day and I was inspired to share it with the internet. The car is totally stock, with the exception of a Flowmaster 60's series muffler, a sticker, headlights and tail lights. At this age the car needs service about twice a year, but the cost never seems to go above about 800 a year (tires, front end alignment, clutch master cylinder, brake pads, new VTEC solenoid, AC compressor work, CV axles/wheel bearings, ignition coil are some of the things its had done to it in the last few years.)

The way I look at it is that these things are bound to wear out around this mileage, they probably wont wear out again, and the yearly cost is still significantly less than a car payment. Sometimes I consider getting rid of it when one of those larger ticket repairs is needed, but when I browse the used car market and find myself looking for cars so similar in year and nationality I always just keep it running a little longer.

Does anyone else around here simply drive, fix, and enjoy a clean stock Honda from this era? I just have so many positive feelings towards this car because it looks so pleasant, and is still so wonderful to drive.

I apologize if this thread was rambling or in the wrong sub-forum (please feel free to move it,) I just wanted to share my joy with fellow Honda lovers online. (My local car community is purely street racers with destroyed ford probes and old guys with muscle cars.)

Very nice! Not that it matters, but are you the original owner?

I am the 3rd owner, I purchased the car at 125k in late 2010. The gentleman I purchased it from got it at 95k from the original owner. She was an older woman who drove it occasionally as her sporty weekend car.

Wow... that looks amazing!

I'd invest in upgrading worn parts with improved aftermarket options, but all-in-all it looks fantastic!

Aha! I forgot to mention that i did have it re-painted in Ferrari's "Rosso Corsa" around 175k i think. Original color is Milano Red. I wax it when its dirty and weather permits, so its been keeping up nicely. The picture I posted in the OP is from a week or so ago after a good wash. (Texas hasn't had much winter this year!)
