Default Type R on track for the first time in a while

Hey all, been ages. Happy new year! Took the R out to the track a few weeks ago and actually managed to stick a camera in it for the first time in probably 10 years. Still makes all the same noises as before, but now the cameras have way more pixels. My new year's resolution is 1080p.

Nice Sunday drive. JK, sounds like cosmetic noises; None engine related?

I've read what you wrote about 4 times and I still have no idea what you're trying to say Cosmetic noises?

If your implication is that the car sounds fairly quiet, it's got the factory exhaust, and the Comptech icebox is/was known for being effective and relatively muted.

Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing. Great to hear about OG's stepping back on track.

I'm thinking the "cosmetic noises" are just wind and stuff blowing around. caR sounds great

Stock exhaust has served me well since 2001, and I've been in enough street Hondas on long trips to appreciate a more mellow tone. (Our EP3 Civic was called "the penalty box" for its booming drone on long trips.) Good seeing some of the original faces still active on the board!

Amen, I just installed one on my civic. I opt not to weld anything and bought this 3 flange extender. I'm glad i didn't cut or weld or else I would've regret having to deal with the welds again down the line. Totally love revving the engine now.

Im still rocking a stock muffler on my R. Even with a header, test pipe, and b pipe, the car is quiet on the streets unless Im ripping on it. Ill never install an aftermarket muffler section unless its something like the twin loop but I have a hard time paying for that kind of thing.

Looking good Scott.

BTW -- I stopped by Mike Ancas' place back in November to pick up a CRX nose, and forwarded him a couple ITR EXPO shirts in exchange for the free Button/Honda/McLaren hat.

Zyg, that's awesome! Haven't seen Ancas in forever, thought I do see his digital footprint from time to time. I'm definitely gonna look into VIR this year for Expo, though it's quite a ways north of here!
