AC was optional going by catalog pics. I have a 1997 price list and catalog and have been trying to find a good image language translator to see what it says. Should have that info in there.
Going by the picture I agree. But if you look at the spec sheet it says nothing about A/C as being an option (as far as I can tell anyway). It shows the weight of the car as 1060, with ABS option 1070, with ABS & SRS 1080. No mention of A/C.
I think maybe the pictures were of a very early car, that was perhaps more of a demo car? Just guessing here. Maybe A/C was standard on all JDM cars but it was an option to delete it?
So this is the 1997 price list, sorry pic is average - the factory options are SRS, ABS, LSD (standard) and weirdly the centre high stop light.
But here in the catalog it says "Radio lid dealer option", so possibly AC was in the same boat. I haven't come across a properly translated catalog yet, and the app I used takes ages!
I believe for the JDM 95-97 the ABS, A/C, and third brake light were all optional I just see a lot of them have a/c when looking on the auction. I believe 98+ ABS was standard.
