SAE 10w-30 lawnmower oil put in a 93 Honda Accord
What's up guys, so here is one that some of you may never of heard of...... My girlfriend put Powercare premium SAE 10w-30 lawnmower oil in her 1993 Honda Accord by mistake. Women lol, after a week, I noticed her car leaking oil on the engine and exhaust causing it to smoke a lot. I changed the oil, but it still smokes. I assume cause it still leaks. So, what is the best thing to do in this case?
Find the leaks
Personally I would "THANK HER", she at least put oil in the car.
The leak(s) was there before or there would not have been a need to add oil. You need to find the leaks and address them.
Again to some point I would be proud of a girl like that.....no, I've been married, happily, for over 27 years to the same woman.

Lawnmower oil won't hurt an engine if isn't left in there a long time. It probably has a different additive mix but the lubricating properties will be similar - after all, it IS 10w-30 motor oil.
Again, don't want to go off the deep end....the GF knew or noticed the oil was low - YOU DID NOT - she put oil in the car........someone taught her right.
Yes the spec's on the oil she put in might not be what is called for in the car.......but no or low oil is worse IMHO....and now you seem to think she caused this....
If I wasn't home/around and my GF/wife did that....she gets a BIG HUG.
The point is - WHY did the car need to have oil added? Answer that please.....
