Couldn't really find my answer in Search. Got a 1995 civic ex with the D16Z6 and the engine threw a rod. The JDM websites have the zc/d16a and the D15b. Mine is the v-tec version so is that zc/d16a a direct swap with no mods? Also is that d15b v-tec also a direct swap with no mods? Both the engines say 1992-1995.I'd like the 1.5 cause it's cheaper and the car is a daily driver. Thanks guys!

 

Just a quick opinion, but im pretty sure they sould swap fine and I like the sound of the d15b vtec jdm

 

I never knew a vtec solenoid could make that much noise, or could be heard over the exhaust system.

 

I think you misunderstood me I meant I like the sound of that not like the actual sound lol my bad must be slang

 

Thanks! JUST wondering if anyone has ever swapped a 1.5 where a 1.6 was. It's always the other way around.

 

Did you ever think maybe there's a reason it's always the other way around? They are subpar engines, in every measurable way.
