70,000 kms on drivetrain swapped in when rebuilt

Car is very quick and handles incredibly well. If you've driven one of these before you'll know how well they handle. A fun car to drive and definitely a head turner!
Car has minor problems as follows;
Spider gear in the lsd has some slight play but easily still driveable, I have a brand new replacement to go with the car. There's a nasty rock chip in the windshield, and the rims do have some scuffs

WTT: Looking to trade a 1985 BMW 318i 5spd (e30) for a rolling R shell or similar conditioned car.
Location: Cleveland, Ohio.
Mileage: 93k

I'm the 2nd owner of the BMW(unless you count the dealer where I got it from and where I work at) with 93k miles. ALL ORIGINAL.
The previous owner was an older lady who passed away last year and her daughter is friends with the dealer's owner.
The owner of the dealer bought it from her as a favor cause she didn't want to deal with the hassle of selling a car. I bought it from the dealer.

As stated above, the car is completely original and in overall great shape.
Since I bought it in November I have done the following repairs for peace of mind:
New plugs.
New wires.
New rotor.
New water pump.
New t-stat.
New fan clutch.
New radiator.
New belt(one new one installed and the other two bought).


The car needs a bit more work to make it perfect -
Needs the other belts replaced and the R12 changed to R134(and ac tested).
Needs a valve cover gasket - $6 on rockauto.
Needs a front main seal - $8 on rockauto.
Needs a new muffler - although the original one doesn't sound bad, but it does have a leak - $155 on rockauto.
Needs the service index boards fix or replaced, because the tach doesn't work - $140 on ebay.

So about $350(if you get the exhaust) and a weekend of work and you have a 100% original, unmolested, super clean e30.


This car I value at around $4,000 - $4,500 due to the fact that it's all original and not rusted out and I live in Ohio.
The car came from Rochester NY this past fall.

Located in Chicago but have people to see it in Southern CA, Northern CA, and Central Oregon. In the market for a Type R. I'm open to years and colors. Stock preferable but will still consider other options.

Open to shelling out for clean complete car or spending less on a shell for a long term restoration build.

I think there are more people in in the ITR market that WTB compared to FS.

 

That's probably true. They've pretty much hit the bottom of the depreciation curve and have increased in price the last few years. Now if only ppl stop stealing them, it's a 20yo car ffs! Just leave them be, there's few of them as is.
