Default Oh No ! - it's not the switch OR the ICM !

I joined a few days ago (see new members) and described a problem with my 3.0L V6 that everyone on the planet knows about - viz. the engine cuts out randomly.

Well, first I changed the Ignition Control Module in the Distributor Cap. Still had problems. Then I did what the Honda recall was about ten years ago and changed the ignition switch.

I thought I had cracked it. But today, out of the blue like always, it cut out.

Jeeezzz, what on earth is going on. If there is an old Honda engineer out there who has actually cured this dangerous fault I would really welcome their solution.

My first guess would be the main relay but you should hook up a fuel pressure tester to the rail from Harbor Freight and drive around with the gauge under the hood facing you in the driver seat and see if fuel pressure is cutting off when the car is dying.

OK - Thanks for this: I will give it a go. Just curious: does the fuel pressure sensor cut off very quickly - only the car doesn't die slowly, spluttering or anything like that: she just cuts out like someone has turned off a light-switch...?

Cheers

Have you noticed if the tach immediately dies as well or does it gradually spin down as the engine dies?

I would check the camshaft and crankshaft sensors.
If they are dirty, or thermally failing, this could cause the engine to stall as well.

Can the car be restarted soon after it stalls or does it need to cool down first?

Any work done prior to this stalling issue?

Check engine wiring harness and connections for damage and corrosion.
