this is normal every once in a while, but it just started flashing for about 5 seconds at startup. I just changed oil and reset it about 2,100 miles ago so I'm not sure why it's blinking now. I always thought this light was just a dummy light to remind me to change oil and filter.

 

You give no info on the car (year, engine, trans, trim level).

If you car has a MIL light and it is flashing, get the actual codes and let us know what the actual code(s) are....not the description, the actual code.

 

Is this a Ford F-150?
