96 Accord F22B1 4cyl 2.2l 5 Speed Project
Hey guys,
This will be my first project. I'm not a complete novice to cars, but as far as performance & Hondas go, I am completely new.
I have a lot of body work to do, but the engine is basically completely rebuilt when I bought it (maybe 2k miles on it so far). New transmission, new clutch, new brakes, and new tires (need new rims, probably just getting steelies for now).
I had originally intended to do body work and paint now, and do the rest as I learn, but decides with winter approaching I'll be holding off on body work so its not getting worn down by salt and snow.
That being said, I'll be spending this mainly learning on forums, and getting some input on what I can do with her.
Body work I'm pretty good with, but I've never lowered a car before so that's going to be something I'll have to research. I don't plan to turbo as its out of my price range for now. I'm not looking for top performance, just a fun little street car.
So nice to meet you guys, hope I can find the info I need here. :D

Well most people start with the basics. Intake, then Header/Exhaust. Once you have those items done and assuming nothing else has broken and needs replacing you can go with the F23 Intake Manifold, bigger throttle body. Honestly all of that does not make a huge difference. Keeping up with maintenance makes a big difference in performance. I would recommend not using any MSD products, Coil, wires they don't add much and create problems. Stick with Stock ignition/wires/NGK plugs/Cap/Rotor.
Removing the Balancer belt seemed to make a difference with my car but I'm sure there are drawbacks there. I changed my Cat for a resonator and that made a huge difference but my cat was like 90% clogged so again Maintenance is important.
Some people do Cams or a do a head swap but at that point you will be investing a lot of money and should have all of the supporting mods already in place.
My suggestion is stick with I/H/E, you wont get a lot of gains but it will sound a lot faster. haha
