My 2005 Honda Accord EX with Navigation now displays error "Can't read disc" when booting. The cycle starts with 'downloading software' then moves to "can't read disc".

1) I tried installing a navtool unit to use a rear backup camera. I used ptaps that didn't even cut the wire insulation.

2) Somebody borrowed the car and bonked the dvd nav unit

3) The Nav unit had been finicky for the past year occasionally rebooting.


What do you recommend I do to get the unit working again. Disc is fine. Any ideas for a cheap brain replacement?
