Howdy everyone!
I used to live on this forum and loved logging on everyday to read up on random car jargon that made me happy and pumped about owning a Type R. I guess we all start getting older and priorities take over so I've lost that excitement that I used to really enjoy. I still keep in touch with a few of my good Honda buddies that I've made over the years and I finally got a chance to meet a lot of the guys at this years ITR Expo!
Not to be fooled, I'm still really into cars but I have shifted over to the BMW sites and I can't say I really love it over there haha. The R has been in hiatus but she is doing well! 2014 was a great year and I accomplished a big dream of mine which was buying a 91 NSX in January
The plan of attending ITR expo happened at 2AM on late night when I told myself that its now or never! Well, fast forward a few months after buying the Expo ticket and I found myself accomplishing another big dream of becoming a new home owner. I kept telling myself that I wanted to go but knew deep down inside that I probably shouldn't spend the extra money. I drove my buddy Chase ( 94rsturbo ) crazy with all the back and forth. He offered that I just ride up there with him and said no because I might as well just drive my car if I'm going to do that. Well, after many talks with the family and my girlfriend at the time, I decided to skip Expo. They wanted me to go enjoy myself but something told me it wasn't financially smart. So fast forward to the day that Chase is getting ready to leave with his buddy Jowee and I drove over to lend him my jack. That morning I got a wild hair in assss and told Chase I was going to drive. He didn't believe me and was probably more so pissed off but I didn't blame him. I show up as they are taping up his car and I suddenly got the urge to just say, efff it, I'm doing it. No RAGRETS

My plan to take my R was halted due to the roll bar in my car requiring a 5 point harness. I thought quickly about my next best option... do I want to drive my M3 up there which would probably break down or do I want to take the NSX! It was a no brainer and I figured, why the hell not right! They left that night and stayed in OKC. I stayed up till 2am getting my car ready and hit the road at 6am to meet them in OKC and we started the journey!
On to the pictures:
94rsturbo - super geeked about heading to his 3rd Expo

Caught up with them in OKC

We made it up to St. Louis and decided to pit stop for some delicious bbq:

That night at about 2am, we made it to Syracuse and stayed with Steven who was nice enough to have us over. Got to meet a couple more ITR guys, Craig and Dave!

Super happy to be at Expo:

Parade Lap ( no more tape )

Group Shot ( Me - Jowee - Chase - Ryan )

Taped up and ready for my 1,000 mile road trip back home:

Hopefully I can take heR next year

Sorry for the long post but I've been MIA for a little while and wanted to share this story! I was a little hesitant about not knowing anyone but everyone was really nice and I met some great people. I can't remember the guys name but someone even let me borrow a helmet ( Justin? ) and I greatly appreciate it. If you are reading this, I enjoyed chit chatting with you and the kind gesture. Thank you to Mark for being my instructor and helping me be a little more comfortable behind the wheel of this thing! Great meeting Doespike and Coolhandluke finally. Also thank you to Mark in the red s2k for snapping some extra pictures on the parade lap and telling me to look up! That was awesome
All in all, I should have gone back in 2008 when I originally wanted to go! If you haven't been, you should! We drove over 1,000 miles and 15 hours for this event and I would do it again

It was nice to finally meet you sir. I'm thrilled to hear you had a great first Expo. I look forward to seeing you next year!
Dates are set for Expo 16. Fly out if you can't drive out, you won't be disappointed- I will make sure of it.

Awesome pics and recollection of your expo experience. That was me who lent you the black open face helmet. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to E16! Your PY looks super clean.
