I have a 96 accord and I converted the ecu to obd1 p06 but it dosent run right . Do I need to have this ecu chipped or tuned

 

Fantastic information.

1. Why did you convert to ab OBDI ECU when your car is OBDII?

2. Why did you possibly think or come to the conclusion that a Civic DX ECU was even remotely appropriate for your OBDII F22B1/2 motor?

3. What modifications did you make to the motor and/or harness to accommodate the OBDI ECU?


I mean seriously, you grabbed a D15 (1.5L OBDI 4cyl non-VTEC) ECU and expected it to run an OBDII 2.2L 4cyl (possibly VTEC but you leave that part out).

 

For starters it's none v tech . And I got the jumper harness to convert it to obd1 so it can be tuned cause we all know 0bd2 can't. And the p06 can be tuned and chipped much like the p28. But some has told me I may have to run an obd1 dizzy to but I can't find a jumper harness for it .

 

Put the car back to stock and figure out what you totally need before attempting anything at all. Change requires planning and understanding BEFORE you go piecemeal in or just slapping random schtuff in.

 

 

Yeah I put the same ecu back I Manley just wanted to see if it would run . I called ry wire and they talked like it would just plug and go cause it wouldn't try to look for the sensors that obd2 has like crank position sensor or egr. It is frustrating but I am going to try and keep researching

 

A P06 can be chipped and tuned, but it's not just like you slap a stock one into an entirely different car and expect it to work.

You, at a minimum, need a chipped ECU with your motor's basemap on it. At a minimum. Preferably, the ECU would have a ZIF socket so you can swap the chip in and out easily.

Then you can order a chip from Phearable with your basemap already programmed to it. THEN you can install the OBDI ecu (along with other necessary bits) and have it start right up.

The part number is on the left. You do need to be handy with a soldering iron though and also need to be able to desolder stuff.
