Hello,

I just replaced the seal on my power steering pump and reinstalled it. The steering takes tremendous effort to turn. I have disassembled the pump and found nothing wrong, it spins easily no noise etc. I have also cleaned the reservoir and put in fresh Honda fluid.

It's likely your rack is bad.

 

I replaced the rack about two years ago. Is there a way to test the rack to determine if it is indeed bad?

 

Did the problem start when you replaced the seal on the pump?

 

Yes it did

 

Replaced the ps pump, no change.
