accord mobility issue
hello all, just got a 94 accord ex, auto (sadly). so when you put it in gear, you almost have to floor it to make it move, dosent start going till around 4500rpm. any ideas what issue may be? been doing this since i got it, recently i did plugs an wires, did nothing to help.
Put the car in neutral and release the parking brake. You shouldn't have to start the car for this, merely turn the key to on without starting, push the brake, and move shifter to neutral. Or put the key in the interlock manual override slot next to the shifter and move it to neutral. Are you then able to push the car forward and backward?
If not you should then check each tire jacked up one at a time to see if they rotate freely. To test the front put the car in neutral again but make sure the parking brake is firmly set. To test the rear make sure the car is in park and release the parking brake. It wouldn't be a bad idea to chock the wheels you aren't lifting to make sure no accidents happen.
I'm just throwing ideas out there but it may be frozen or dragging brakes or bad bearings. If one wheel is hard or impossible to turn you know where to look closer.

If yes, turn the ignition back to I(OFF).
Have you checked for any stored codes?
Under/behind the center of the glovebox pull down the two wire blue connector.
Jumper it with a wire.
Turn the ignition to II(ON).
Monitor the warning lamps for any flashing codes, record them and report back here.
Have you checked AT fluid level?
Check the AT level before starting. It should be within the hash marks on the dipstick.
Pull the handle out, wipe it down, reinsert, pull it out and check the level.
Start the engine and allow to warm up. Place the transmission in every gear for 5-10 seconds. Don't rev it. Place it back into Park, leave the engine on.

You don't need a "tuning computer" to pull the codes. Your Accord is OBD1, and the advice you got from MAD MIKE on how to pull the codes was good advice. He is on the forum a lot, and really knows his Hondas...
Don't you think this would be important information for your first post?
The CEL you'll need to scan for, you can use the paperclip method and jump the blue connector behind/under the glovebox and then count the flashes. MAD_MIKE explained it in slightly more detail. You may have multiple codes.
