I have a 97 Civic D16A (D16y7) and I just did a tranny swap and forgot to put the dust cover on when I was meeting the trans to the engine, is there any way of getting it on without having to fully remove the oil pan or separating the trans again?

My friend was able to get it on before without even touching the oil pan and trans but he moved to a different state and isn't able to explain how he did it he would have to show me hands on which doesn't do me any good, so any help would be amazing

 

yes, it is. you just kind of wiggle it back in. if you have the braces installed, you may need to remove them

OP... watch vid from 14:00 minute mark and install it the same way as he removed it.

 

remove brace if you installed it first, should be straight forward with a couple bolts

the only thing that goes on after the dist cover is the brace between engine and transmission, so just take the brace off and put it on.
