Icon4 ep3 electrical issue

whats up everyone, i know this may have been covered before so try not to flame me too hard lol

my issue is that i just recently acquired an 04 ep3 the number one issue/pet peeve i have with it now is that it seems the previous owner was some kind electrical genius and started to hack away at the harness in the dash. the wires under the drivers dash seem to have been tampered with but dont really show a big issue. the factory radio harness was completely chopped off so all im left with is loose wires. fortunately i was able to get it wired to an aftermarket radio but theres a flaw, seems like i cant get the correct wire (12v memory cable) correct and so my radio resets those settings every single time i turn my car off. was considering buying an 03 ep3 complete dash harness as a replacement, any advice on that? are the harnesses the same or is it the engine harness that changes in the newer 04-05 model. please someone shed some light its driving me insane. i have part numbers if interested in specific details

Have you checked the radio backup fuse, it might just be blown.

You might have tapped the wrong cable there is one for memory and another for power when you turn the car on, it might be inverted

so i did i little bit of research myself on the harness and the part number for an 03/04 ep3 just vary by the last number so im assuming this is because the 03 ep3 is slightly different than the 04 ? here are the part numbers; 2003 ep3 - (32103-S5T-A00), 2004 ep3 - (32103-S5T-A01) if someone can comfirm these are indeed the same harnesses please let me know because there is nothing more disruptive in a car then an electrical issue
