Default Jerkiness at low RPM: D16Y8

96' del Sol SI
Manual transmission
D16Y8
OBD2 P28

New parts:
distributor cap
distributor rotor
spark plug wires

My symptoms are very similar to these threads:
https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...nosis-3248911/

https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...-rpms-3193639/

It almost feels like drivetrain backlash or a broken engine mount.

It is nearly impossible to drive under 10 mph/ <1000rpm. The car jolts forward when the accelerator is depressed even slightly, and will continue to do so as long as the accelerator is depressed. Symptom also occurs upon deceleration.

The symptom is most apparent when accelerating from low rpm, and when I let off the accelerator at high rpm.

TLDR: Jolts when accelerating from low rpm, as well as letting off the accelerator at high rpm.

Does your throttle cable have a tiny bit of slack to it when resting? Where is your base idle set? Do you have an aftermarket clutch or flywheel?

Throttle cable has some slack in it. Just adjusted my idle not too long ago. Don't remember the exact number, but I used a tach on my phone and set it to the number on the sticker on the underside of the hood. I believe it was 750 +/- 50 rpm. I aimed for within those parameters. As far as I know, the clutch and flywheel are stock. I haven't had the transmission off since I've owned it. 2 previous owners, one worked for the dealership he got it from, the other was responsible old people.

Just drove it and I made sure to focus on when it occurs and I came to the conclusion that it happens at all rpms, but is more prevalent at low rpm with accel/snap closed throttle conditions.

I'm sure it only happens under 3k rpm right?

Correct, after around 3k rpm it smooths out and isn't as noticable.

Confirmed tps is receiving 5v. Measured resistance between terminal 1 and 2 on the tps and got .5.

More research yielded this:
How do I inspect the motor mounts? - Acura TSX Forum

"But I've seemingly always had this problem where the entire front of the car shakes/vibrates when just getting off of the clutch pedal and applying the gas. The contents of my change tray rattle, my glovebox rattles, and everything is silent again the moment I'm fully off the clutch and driving."

I have the same symptom. As well as vibration at idle.

I'm leaning towards rear engine mount. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to check this mount?
