2001 Acura Integra Type R | Bring a Trailer

Will be interesting to see what it goes for, and what the BaT peanut gallery thinks.

Interesting, from my hometown as well.

He should have really cleaned up the bay/undercarriage before taking pics..

I'm thinking it will sell between $11k-14k with the mileage.

I wonder what my '00 PY could sell for with 45k haha not that I'd sell it anytime soon

I thought it looked pretty good for a daily driver.

Wow.... Just wow... Surprised by the final price.

Description Saved for record below.. #01-0480 Phoenix Yellow

"This 2001 Acura Integra Type R has 118K miles and has been the seller’s daily driver for four and a half years. This example features original paint and interior and comes with a clean Carfax report viewable below showing that this has been a California car since new. Too often heavily modified and abused, examples in stock and original condition are increasingly difficult to find – the only modifications on this car are a rear window tint, Hardrace rubber bushings in the front lower control arms, and federal catalytic converter explained below. The car recently received a new head gasket and is ready to drive with no deferred maintenance.

The Type R was limited production model featuring both weight reduction measures like sunroof delete, no spare tire and less sound deadening, and enhanced performance with special intake manifold, camshafts, pistons, and more. Type Rs were available in two colors for 2001: black and this example’s Phoenix Yellow. The seller says the paint is all original with just a few slight flaws, maintaining a deep shine and clean overall appearance.

The interior is well preserved for the age and mileage as the dash, seats, and factory Type R floor mats all appear to have limited wear and tear. The stock CD player has stopped working, the power antenna grinds a little while moving, one windshield sprayer is clogged, and some wheels were curbed and touched up by the previous owner.

The original 1.8-liter engine and close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission present well in a nicely detailed engine bay. The Type R’s B18C5 VTEC 4-cylinder made 195 horsepower at a stratospheric 8,000rpm and featured factory upgraded components including pistons, throttle body, cams, connecting rods and polished intake runners. The Type R’s neutral handling was achieved through stiffer suspension tuning, more rigid chassis bracing and a limited-slip differential; many proclaim it one of the best handling FWD cars ever made.

The car’s timing belt and water pump were replaced at 110k miles. Repairs in the past year have included the replacement of all suspension bushings, clutch, radiator, both drive axles, and ignition components; additionally, the head gasket was recently replaced by Gold Coast Acura (a receipt for$2k is included).

The current “federal” catalytic converter is approved for use everywhere except in California, which prevents the car from passing the visual emissions test there even though it passes all other aspects of the test. However, if the purchaser is in California, the seller will install a new California-compliant cat and have the car emissions tested for the new owner as required for title transfer within the state.

The car is sold with a clean California title in the seller’s name and a Carfax report free of any accidents, thefts, or other issues."
