Default Power Window Overload Protection

This is for a 1996 Civic EX 4dr:

When testing (jumping +/- power to terminal 1&2 of the motor wiring harness) the power window motors for both the drivers and other windows, the FSM states "CAUTION: when the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately."..so it appears there could be a potential overload issues if power is applied to the motor once it has reached its maximum up/down positions. Which Leads me to my next question:

During normal operation what protects the motor and wiring from this overload other? Based on the wiring diagram I don't see any type of overload protection device other than the 20A fuse and the circuit breaker which is located within the window motor units. The circuit breaker should still be functional when jumping power to the #1&2 leads for the testing procedure so I don't see why the FSM seems so concerned.

Is there some other component that cuts power once the window has reach the top or bottom of its range?

thanks!
