Default What is recommended brand distributor?

1999 civic ex...d16y8
160k miles, and purchased a few months ago....overall in seemingly excellent shape, and I'm slowly restoring it and a few mods here and there...

anyways, I'm going to be driving it to florida a lot....from north Carolina, so about 1700 miles or so.
I'll be doing this every three months

so I'm packing a toolkit and some spares and thought about bringing a spare distributor since the only time I've been stranded on the road was back in 2001 with my 88 crx si when the dizzy went.

So I'm looking at buying one to literally carry in my trunk.

Perhaps when the one on the car goes, I'll swap it with the trunk one and buy another and start all over...

anyways, what brand or better yet...where do I buy one that is not a complete piece of **** autozone brand with iffy reliability?

I did search, a lot, and must not be putting the proper keywords in cause nothing came up...

thanks in advance

used oem. if not, just grab a cheap coil... usually its the coil that fails, theyre 10 bucks on ebay. priced right for a spare.

ok, so any brand off ebay for the coil?
I guess I wouldn't bother with a spare dizzy then, right? Slap the new coil into the dizzy and keep driving...

probably bring a new cap and rotor too just in case...

Something with a warranty. I use Rockauto for coil, distributor and other parts.

Pick up a complete used distributor, they're usually around $40.
