98 Accord 2.3 JDM Swap
I have scoured everywhere trying to find a definitive answer on what sensors/parts I need to swap from my F23A1 to the JDM A and have not found anything concrete....Can anyone help with this? I live in Texas and we have emissions testing so I figure swapping the intake over is a must. I know the EGR and VTEC solenoid require swapping...My main issue is with the fuel rail, crank position sensor, and the transmission sensors, ANY help ya'll can give me will be GREATLY appreciated. I just joined the forum so if anyone has a link to anything that will assist me that is greatly appreciated as well. Thank ya'll for your time...
Everything from the original A1 should be placed onto the A engine. You may be able to save yourself some time by reusing the A crank sensor, but if your A1 sensors were fine I would just reuse known good components. Never heard of a problem with the crank sensor connector being different.
Transmissions on the 98-02 seem to use different connectors on the sensors, you will most likely have to replace those with your original units sensors, if they are good. The two gear pressure switches sometimes start leaking, replace those if suspect.

Yes use your old Intake manifold assembly + fuel rail - From manifold to throttle body. + vtech
you should be using your original transmission ? not a new jdm one.
JDM have an extra coolant temp sensor that is not used -- on the head -
i have a swap thread that shows my problems 5ish years ago - search me

WW...I actually used your thread to answer some questions I did have even before I joined this forum...I did do a complete manifold swap with all the bells and whistles and moved my vtec solenoid over however that extra coolant temp sensor does apply to me, I have a 1998 model, they changed it up in 1999 and beyond model years to just one connector. As for the transmission, that was the original source of my problems 2nd and 3rd was shot and the engine had 240K on it so it was cheaper just to swap out both. I have been assured (fingers crossed) that swapping out all the sensors from my original tranny will suffice with the new one. Thank you for your info though, you really did get me started.
