Default Took a trip down the coast this evening with my 17 and a half year old...

Finally got my car on the west coast and decided to break her in by driving down highway one... What an epic route, and yet I know there are plenty more roads to discover out here.

I drove her off the lot nearly 18 years ago but still making me grin each time I fire her up.

It was absolutely perfect... car loved the cooler weather.

Was the first time running 91octane fuel in the car - Chevron - was surprised how well the car ran with that. I've been spoiled with 94/93 up in Canada but heard good things about Chevron and so far so good.

My next big challenge is going to be getting the car plated with California plates... but I've got some time to sort that one out.

I've always loved how your Type R looks with the 16" NSX wheels all around! Nice pics!

Great post Doug . As a Canucker, I've heard that US 91oct is superior to our 94oct. Something about us getting "watered down" versions. Guys I know here are making runs to the US for 91. I thought that was a little strange.

Glad you still have heR and congrats on your relocation to the west coast

Thanks! I've heard the same thing about the gas down here but this was the first chance I had to test it. I ran some 91 up in Canada and I can tell you that the car did NOT like it. It was a real concern in bringing the car down this way.

That's awesome... I have a real story about the plates - they predate the car by about 10 years (1988 or so) a friend of mine bought them for his Buick T-Type but never registered them. When I bought my car he gave them to me as a gift... perfect!

Thanks, I think I've been sporting these wheels longer than anyone although the Realtime guys beat me to it.

What mods if any is required to fit nsx wheels on the itr?

What part of California are you staying

No mods required - they bolt right up. The hub centric diameter is larger on the NSX wheels (70mm vs 64mm) but so long as you tighten the lugs in correct sequence and ensure that the wheels get centered (via the lugs themselves - which will happen if you do it properly) then all is good. I've never (for the past 15 years) had an issue with this "apparent" issue with these wheels. Mine are from the 1998 model NSX.

I'm in Northern California.

I always wondered what those nsx wheels (same as the itr wheels just 16") would look like on the Itr.

Looks awesome! I'll never find 2 sets of those wheels to make 1 set.

I was curious, and went on acuraoemparts.com to see how much one new front wheel costs:

Teknotik's is a retailer and distributer for aftermarket parts supporting the sport compact world (particularly focused on Honda's) up in the Toronto area. They also have a hosted many lapping events and have been active in the community. I've got a very close affiliation with the shop and don't mind the extra exposure the decal on my car obviously provides. I've been around long enough to see the entire community go through a few generation cycles and these are good peoples and have been around for a very long time.

Here's an old shot showing the car (with the NSX wheels) before the decal's went on the car - I'm sure there are those around here that know the pic.

I drove that highway home when I purchased my ITR back in 05, looks as good as I when I last saw it last in 07 at the ITR EXPO! Glad to see you still have her!
