My ratty RD1
Long time lurker, infrequent poster but I figured I'd post up some pictures of my CRV now that I am "finished" with how it looks. Previous daily was an EG sedan that had a similar look. I don't know what to call it but I like it
It's a 2000 LX 5MT in Clover Green Pearl, salvage title due to severe hail damage (hard to see in pictures but it's dimpled like a golf ball), purchased in June '13 with 158k, now at 191k. Have moved across the country twice, hauling close to its own weight both times. Can't ask for much more for a dirty daily.
Start from the beginning, $2200 off craigslist with a misfire

Got tint, visors, and a Class 3 hitch
this was after 800 miles from Ohio to Massachusetts, got about 16 MPG

Found a Westin light bar on clearance and snagged a factory roof rack and front mud flaps from a totaled CRV (the left bar doesn't sit quite right - donor car was t-boned)

Junkyard driver seat for double armrests, also cut a coil off the front springs at some point to even out the wheel gap

Pulled over a shed or two

Winter no problemo, got a 22 incher and the CRV laughed in its face

Bought a $500 trailer

Filled a trailer. Something, something dangerous. Yeah I know guys. Made it safe and sound, ~13 MPG 900 miles Massachusetts to Kentucky

Finally got the roof basket I'd been wanting, got the main basket 50% off and the extension cheap

Found some friends

$1500 craigslist score, just needed brakes, identical to the other, could not resist...VIN is 3 cars down the line

Tires were getting worn and I decided I was going to bite the bullet before winter...these Dodge Diplomat steelies with good tires popped up on craigslist for $150 and they were close enough to fit (had to grind maybe 1mm off front calipers and cut out the metal under the rear quarter moldings to prevent rubbing)

And some proper pictures

That's all for now folks. I still want an OEM wing and maybe a small spacer lift but otherwise I'm just going to keep driving it!
