Default D15B1/B2

I have a 1990 Standard Hatch with the D15B1 engine.. my question is; is the only difference between the B1 and the B2 the cam? I am not looking for "mad power" or anything, just want to do a few things to make the drive to work a bit less mundane. the previous owner has already done a 5spd swap, and the MPFI conversion. but I think I'm going to have to redo that cause the dudes soldering skills are ... well... lacking. also, IF by some chance I come across a D16 from the Si, do I need to swap over the axles and knuckles or are they the same? sorry if this is "noob" crap, but any insight would be appreciated.

The 3 main differences are:
Cam
Ecu
Throttle body

By far the biggest thing is the throttle body. On the B1 engines, the secondary "choke" butterfly only opens like 1/3 of the way. On the B2 it opens all the way. I THINK you might be able to modify the B1 TB, but there are plenty of B2 TBs that you can just switch out.

Next I would do the ECU, mainly to compensate for the large increase in air flow.

Last would be the cam. As far as ive seen, the two cams are not that different.

If the cams are different, it isn't by much.

Like F22Master said, the biggest difference is the severely restricted throttle body.

Don't put the DPFI intake back on. Just fix the wiring issues on the MPFI and maybe add a cam for some extra HP.

Thanks again guys. I wasn't planning on putting the stock intake back on, I just meant redoing the wiring. I've got a friend that loves to solder. He's Kind of crazy like that, but he has one hell of an eye for detail so... yea. I was just getting my info from Wiki and wanted some input from a more reliable source. one more question, has any one tried to fit that Mugen Widebody kit from the first gen CRX onto a civic hatch? if so, are there any pictures out there I could see? thanx again.
