Stronger Cv joints
So I'm currently building a gsr motor right now and I've figured out how to make everything pretty much bullet proof except the draft shaft, cv joints and such. Can anyone point me in a good direction as far as stronger aftermarket replacements or will new oem ones do the job? It will be taking over 500hp by the way. Thanks
There are several other performance axle companies, but none of them are in any way 'cheap'.
'Gator axles' and 'Insane shafts' are two other companies that I have heard about, if you want to do some shopping around.

529/386 right now. Was at 480+ for several years before latest numbers.
Believe it or not I actually broke teeth on the ring gear and the the shaft with those axles installed.

Note that I don't really drag the car or do violent launches. However I do rip 2, 3, and 4th shifts frequently.

Most parts store axles are out of balance though or their lengths are off. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
If you want quality and to "bullet proof" things, then yes, you have to pay to play. Every person running a decent amount of power and was running the other shaffs listed, eventually switched to DSS axles for one reason or another. No reason to spend money twice... I guess it all depends on what you want and what your budget is.

Axles I can replace in 15 or 20 min trans rebuild takes longer.
