Default H22 EG and H2B build

This thread is for anyone who is planning on and h22 swap in eg, an h2b swap in eg, and going from h22 to h2b.
It took me almost 2 years to for my car to actually run..
I was 1st inspired by the h22 when I 1st drove my wife's prelude.. Completely stock I would have a blast smashing on Hondas with b series swapped cars... After finally finding an eg hatch, I removed the h22 and began the long journey..

97 prelude base model.. Didn't have the nicest body.. Motor ran strong..

175000 miles... Really dirty.. Regret not doing compression test 1st. Ending up being 160 in 2 cylinders

This is where we begin to weld on new rear subframe.. Thanks to buddy Adam who welds for a living..

Had to buger weld it the old one just to tow car home

Lots of spot welds to drill out

Test fitting the new frame brace

And the welding begins

New parts to put on. All from eBay.. ( don't buy eBay ) buy cheap then expect cheap.. NEVER AGAIN

Skunk2 springs felt awesome

New subframe on. Sprayed undercoating all underneath the car.. Looks fresh..

Sprayed undercoating here too.. 3 years later. Still looks great. No rust

Dirty motor just needed some tlc

All clean.. New seals all around

OEM replacement clutch

Have to cut off passenger side mount for h22 mounts to fit

Start priming the engine bay

Looks MINT..

Used hasport mounts.. No vibrations. Nice and stuff but a stock feal.

Don't wanna scratch new paint

Easy peasy.. Really not difficult at all..

Tight fit

Have to cut out for h22 shift linkage..

Good fit..

Dirt valve cover must be painted

That's better

After TONS is research the k series RBC manifold is best for me

RDX injectors with with adapters..

Hybrid Racing pressure regulator
Hybrid Racing fuel rail and gauge

Header I got for $100. Not sure the brand but has been great so far

Full 2.5" exhaust

Have to cut rear t-bracket. The rbc manifold sits so low it was sitting on top of the bracket.

Now she fits

Rich from Rich-Tuned welded on this bracket for the throttle cable..

After dyno.. Noticed smoke from exhaust. That's when I did compression test and found low 160 comp in 2 cylinders.. URG should have thought about that..

Will add h2b build and pics later this evening..

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend if you are in the kent area removing pics w/ license plates. And hide it inside. With an alarm. I have had 3 cars stolen from the area and all it took was a HT post or CL add with pics and they were in the neighborhood. Or if you go to the street races...

Clean build, nice power band. Rich's dyno isn't nice so you made good power for that setup.

You plan on any track days next spring/summer?

After almost a year.. I was ready for something more.. Plus with my rings bad and low compression it was time to rebuild anyway.. With already an h22 motor I was easily inspired by the h2b.. I had raced a buddy of mine who had a full b18 type r motor swap.. Looking at his dyno (from rich-tuned) he had 1hp more and a few tq less.. I'm thinking close race.. Looking closely at the pic of the dyno I had placed mine and my buddies together and held below a light. You can CLEARLY see I have more power then he does (up to 20) at about 5500rpm until we even out at about 7700rpm. Easy win for me right??? WRONG. With his type r tranny and my stock h22 he is at least 1500 rpm higher then me in every gear. Making him having 5-10 more hp then me going through gears. (Proving how short of gears the type r has). Anyways my buddy beat me by a good 2-3 car lengths by top of 4th gear from a 15mph roll.
H2B here we come

My hp is the faint one

Time to take car apart AGAIN..

With no ps,ac and a lot less sensors. Sure was basic taking the motor back out..

Had to strip it to the bone again.. Need to fix that hole we cut for shift linkage..

I also converted to power windows and power door locks. I did it the legit way.. Here is the thread I used. https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/92-95-civic-power-door-conversion-right-way-tons-pics-end-all-swap-2337026/
Absolutely worth it.. Looks overwelming but the directions are so simple..

And The fun begins..

Looks and is 100% OEM

Had to weld back on the original size hole..

Also had to weld on the

passenger mount..

Went ahead and re-painted the engine bay...

Picked up a traction bar setup.. Needs re-painted

Have to paint the power mirrors too...

Also painted wiper blades and cowl.

Port and polished head..

Pro 2 cams... Skunk2 springs retainers
OEM valves

Thanks QSD

With all trim black. Thought it would be cool to go with black mounts

Went with the KS eliminator kit.
Still need to order euro r single pulley

Went with a type r tranny, cause we all know it's all about the gears...

QSD kit was nice. LOTS LOTS LOTS of grinding. Little scary at 1st. I looked at lots of pictures and lots of reading before I started. Also had to drill bigger holes in driver side mount for QSD bolts to work..

All ready to go.. Need axles and a pulley.. X mas is coming so might have to wait a few weeks.
