Default Where to buy non-spoon oil/tran magnetic drain plugs?

I remember that some auto store carries magnetic plugs that fits ITRs. Where can I find them? And what size should I be looking for? Are there any quality differences between Spoon and whatevermake?

Get them at Dave at R&D Motorsports, he is da man!

If you get them, make sure that when you pull them out, they do not look like mine in this thread!

I had a set on my other car that I plan to keep. $60 is alot of that. I remember someone said that a set of oil/tran at autozone whatever only cost like 3 bucks each.

Auto-Zone OWNZ

I think they're like 2-3 bucks. I just told them what car I needed it for and also had a spare one with me to match up when I got mine. I dont know if they have the tranny plug, but Im sure they do.

So when you change oil, does that autozone magnetic works?

Yep, theres a small amount of particals on the magnet... While the oil is draining I just take it in the house and clean them off...

I always forget to see if they have a plug for the tranny, maybe next time the fluid is changed I'll find out for sure.

So I just ask for a 98+ integra and they will locate them for me?

Either that, or the next time you do a oil change take the plug in with you and they'll match it up. That will be the easiest way, plus they keep these behind the counter.

Pep Boys has them on the shelf. The size you need is M14 x 1.5 Same size for both the oil pan and the trans.

I shaved a little bit off my magnet tranny plug to be sure the tip didn't contact the diff. They come with cheap plastic gaskets, just use the stock washers instead.

Can't you just swipe a magnet over the stock one a bunch of times to magnetize it?

Exactly. Get M14x1.5 threaded Magnetic drain bolts.

As Sackdz states, grind off the magnetic tip, if you're using it for the tranny. I used dremel to grind of the magnetic tip down to the base. They fit perfectly.
