Default horn prob of all horn probs

Ok guys horn problem that will make you scratch your head and say wtf…….
This just started, my horn only works if the key is out of the ignition. Great if I want to park and get attention, but not so great for driving around crazy Vancouver traffic.
Once again key in= no horn key out= hello horn doesn’t matter if ignition is on or not
Everything else seems to work ok haven’t tried cruise but I haven’t ever used cruise since I owned her.
any help thanx

Do you mean "key in" as in all you do is insert the key into the ignition but do not turn it at all you lose the horn?

OR do you mean if you turn it to position I, II, or III you lose the horn?

Are you doing anything else when you lose the horn like wiggling the steering wheel or something?

If the key just goes in the horn will work but if I turn it at all the horn stops and wont work until the key is completely out of the ignition

Sounds like your ignition is grounding out your horn... Maybe

Does a normal car have to have the key in for the horn to work?

Id check to see if your ignition is grounding out the horn, which is weird.. Did it always do that? Or did it just start randomly?

Well my horn is fixed went to start the car and the key wouldn’t turn I turned the wheel a bit and tried the key again started right up driving a lady cut me off and by reflex I hit the horn and it worked maybe the crv was just mad that I’ve been letting the wife drive her while I was off work
Gotta love Hondas sometimes they fix themselves
