Does ef sedan dash fit in hatch?

Does ef sedan dash fit in hatch?
Title says it all. I just want to know if I have to do any heavy fabing. I've done research but I can never get a straight answer. they look similar so I'm thinking It won't require modification. Also would it be year specific? Meaning would the 88-89 sedan dashes only fit in 88-89 hatches and vice versa? Thanks in advance.
