F22/h22a4 swapped starter no longer engaging flywheel
Hey guys, first post here so I hope I put this in the right spot.
Anyway, I have a boosted f22 sohc non vtec with a h22 transmission in a eg civic. When I bought this car it would start fine on its own by turning the key. One day the starter suddenly did not engage the flywheel, it just would spin. So I thought no big deal and figured the gear just was not popping out of the starter and bought a new one. Same problem. There is a factory flywheel installed that is no more than a year old and judging by the exposed teeth on the bottom of the trans it is perfectly healthy/no teeth are missing. the clutch is an ACT stage 5 3 puck unsprung with the extreme maxx pressure plate from ACT also. When I pulled the first starter there was some oil on the bottom starter bolt. Not sure if that's relevant. Also, it seems the throw out bearing could be starting to go bad. Any thoughts?

I wonder if my car has the same problem... whatever that is. My car starts, sounds fine, however it won't move. I can put it in any gear or reverse, and it just sits there. Is that the same as yours???
Someone said the clutch master cylinder is bad. Someone else said that I need a new transmission. Another said the flywheel.
I have no idea...

No, mine will not start unless push started. My transmission works(poorly- swap syndrome with cable driven trans) and so does the clutch. Personally it sounds to me like you need a new clutch OR a new slave or need your system bled. Are you sure you are selecting gears? Or are you just putting your shifter where it's supposed to be and its not engaging? Are you hearing any grinding?
It seems i high jacked my own thread. It could also be a linkage issue. I'm not too familiar with Hondas but if your reverse lights are not coming on when you select reverse it may be a sign you are not selecting a gear.
