Icon4 Oil Change Intervals (How Often Do You Change Your Oil?)

Hey guys!

I have been seeing a lot of different opinions on how far you can go between oil changes now a days. From a few articles that I have read, i have seen that the age old mantra of "every 3,000 miles" is not so valid in todays world, due to the increased quality and technology gone into todays oils.

I currently run conventional oil in my 00' Si (whatever the Honda dealership puts in there), and was curious if the 3,000 miles interval that they put on the sticker is a set in stone figure (and still valid as opposed to the articles advice), or if it is just a scare tactic to keep you back in their service bays more often?

How often do you guys change your oil?
Please include what type of oil you use (conventional vs part synthetic vs full synthetic), as well as the engine in your vehicle!

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I'd like to see this thread get locked or deleted.

There are millions upon millions of wasted posts and threads discussing "debatable" issues such as this on this forum. Do some searching and find your answers. Your question is entirely subjective to some people, and has been answered enough.

7k OCIs, full synthetic. Ive been doing it that way for about the last 15 years or so. To my car and those in my stable(family and friends)

Works for me. Never a chain issue, never sludge and never burn excessive amounts of oil.
