Default Where to find a trim clip (not the white or green)

I can't for the life of me find the black clip than the white ones slide into in the door trim on my 89 hatch.

On the wagon, Honda considered the equivalent piece to be part of the side protector trim. It did not have a separate part number. Likely the same on the hatch. Pick-n-pull is your best bet.

Agreed, go to pick and pull and take the clips from there.

Good luck trying to remove them at the junkyard without breaking them.

Here's the parts diagram:
Honda Automotive Parts

The black piece is not shown, so it does not have a part number.

The white clip will slide out of the black one by pushing the molding either forward or backward. It may also be possible to release the white clip by pushing a thin piece of metal (like a 6 in. pocket scale) up from underneath against the bottom catch of the white clip.

This link shows how it's done on a wagon.
