Default Headlights ?

My headlights have always not fit right in my 91 hatch and I've been looking for replacements and came across this photo. Not sure if I want to do this but has anybody even ever seen this before? I just thought it was pretty cool and wanted to show the forums.

It's different. I'd have to see it in person

if they get rear ended their head will snap off and we won't have to worry about that car being on the road like that. (no headrests, safety issue there)

I have no idea what is going on with those headlights.
Did they get some ebay lights and remove the fronts?
Or are the headlights actually like an old 1984 recessed lamp.

Looks to me that they are missing the fronts so the reflector is unprotected.
The fog looks like it was not installed very well... beam on the ground is going to be filled with a shadow from the front bumper if they try to aim them correctly.

its kind of like a 1st gen crx

which was a very fragile design

if yours don't fit good, then its NOT a headlight issue….its poor body alignment, wreck issue…
only 1% of the time is aftermarket a better fit. and those above in the red car, look lots worse than any of the fitments in any of the 9 or 10 of my former cars represented…..

fix your body and spend some time getting stuff back t0 spec, you might need washers, spacers, slot some holes etc, but you can make yours right with some effort

they're 'ef9' headlight buckets with the lens remove and smaller headlights installed into a custom housing.
