All of you with stripped hatches
do you hear a metal vibrating noise coming form the right rear section when you hit only hard bumps? my friend says that it is the exhaust moving around...but it sounds like it is from the interior. what the hell is back there to vibrate when everything is stripped?
Lotsa **** vibrates on a 10yr. old car. Mine is gutted right now and makes more noises than I can list. I found one loud noise like you described to come from the hatch glass. One of the bolts was loose, and when I hit bumps the glass was smacking on the latch. Plus it vibrates a lot now...So I can't tell where it is really coming from, but I have similar problems.
Yeah, sometimes I hear a rattle and its kinda difficult to pinpoint. If you look you may find a loose bolt like ThunderLips said. Either that or you got some spare change rattling around
When my back half is stripped I hear the rods off the handle for the rear hatch rattling around. When everything is back in they stop. Who knows

I was about to go out and strip my interior in the trunk. I have to leave the back seat since I have a daughter. But, now that I read all of these noises I think I'll leave it like it is.

Pulled everything out from the carpet back
I'm going to ride out and see if it's really annoying.....
Race mode
just need the engine now
I have been driving around with my hatch stripped out trying to find my water leak. Found it BTW. But no rattles. Only the sound of the stones hitting the bottom of the car and it takes longer to warm up.
solution, find one of your stupidest friends to ride around in the back of the car while you try to replicate the sound, been there done this and found a few of them...
Mine is a 92 and I don't have problems...the only noises I ever hear are rocks or whatever hitting under my car.
After stripping my interior down yesterday. Everything from behind the carpet and front seats can't say I hear any squeaks like expected.
The road noise is louder but still keep my radio at the same volume level. There is NO tar or sound deadning material neither in my 93 Cx
A little dusty. I am going to wipe it down when I get time. Already vacummed the 10lbs. of dirt out of the car

I did that right after I lowered my '93 CX cuz I couldnt figure out for the life of me why there was a hard hitting noise when i hit bumps...so I had my friend ride in the back and he figured out that i didnt tighten the upper shock bolts cuz I was in a hurry to try that **** out!!!
